The name of Mill Bay came from the primary industries in the area when the town was founded in 1860: lumber and milling. Today, with two main routes to Victoria, Mill Bay is considered a commuter town. These two routes it is known for are the ferry to and from Brentwood Bay and Malahat Drive. This ferry and Malahat Drive remain the best routes to Greater Victoria from the rest of Vancouver Island. Also, being located 10 minutes from Shawnigan Lake, many commuters from Greater Victoria commute through Mill Bay to access that destination.
Despite its designation as a "commuter town", many people live in and around Mill Bay. For those people, we are here to provide help with constant pressure systems, water filtration and treatment, and many other well and plumbing services.
